Kelly Clarkson Surprises Route 91 Survivors With 'Ambush Love Song'

Kelly Clarkson surprised a Route 91 Harvest Festival survivor on a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

As a part of the first-ever "Ambush Love Song" segment, Clarkson serenaded high school sweethearts, Shannon and Troy Zeeman. The two have overcome several challenges of life together including Shannon's battle with cancer. After she was declared cancer-free, the two decided to attend the 2017 Route 91 Harvest Festival to celebrate.

During the festival, on October 1, a gunman opened fire on the crowd killing fifty-eight people and injuring hundreds more- including Troy, who was shot in the leg. Despite his injuries, the long time police officer, managed to save himself, Shannon and 20 other concert attendees. His bravery earned him a medal of valor.

Several years later, Shannon wanted to show her husband how much she truly appreciates and loves him in a unique way with the help of Clarkson. The singer and talk show host met up with Shannon, along with member of the a cappella vocal group Pentatonix, in a recording studio to write a love song based around Shannon and Troy's love story.

After the song was completed, Clarkson and the group showed up to Troy and Shannon's lunch date to serenade them with the special song. Check out the whole serenade and hear Tory and Shannon's full love story in the video below.
