Plenty of Fish surveyed more than 400 former users who remain in long term relationships, or are married, to see which first dates lead to the most successful relationships. Not surprisingly, a nice dinner out at a restaurant was the most popular answer, with 55 percent of respondents stating that was their first date. Here are some of the other first dates of couples that went on to get married or date for a long time:

Drinks at a bar - 28%
A movie - 18%
Coffee - 15%
A day at the beach - 10%
