Honestly, can not remember what I normally call it since I've read this story and have been talking about it with people so much, but what do you usually say when you're referencing a shirt that closes in the front via buttons? It's been debated among friends, on The Bobby Bones Show, and even Chrissy Teigen tweeted a poll to see what her followers normally call it. I used to say it doesn't matter what you say because everyone knows what you mean, but it turns out there's actually a correct one. Well actually, both are correct, it just depends on the shirt! If the collar has buttons to hold it to the shirt and keep it from popping up, it's a button DOWN. Any other shirt with buttons on the front, but not on the collar, it's a button UP! Who knew it was so simple?! Click the link in the tweet below to read more!
Oh, but according to Chrissy Teigen's Twitter poll it's "button up."
