Founded by Judy Sheppard Misset in 1969, Jazzercise and has moved on from neon and leg warmers that people sometimes recall from the Jazzercise of 1980s. Jazzercise updates choreography monthly to Top 40 hits which keep the workouts fresh and novel with a variety of formats including Cardio, Strength, Kickbox, Pilates, and Stretch. Jazzercise has been a part of the Springfield small business community for over 35 years and Dawn Snapp became the current owner of Springfield South Jazzercise in 2009.  With 17 amazing FitPros and over 60 classes weekly, there’s a class for everyone! Jazzercise gives you the chance to become part of a supportive fitness community and provides a workout fit for all generations and fitness levels.  You can also take classes through livestreaming and On Demand.  Bonus: you can burn up to 800 calories in one class!

Dawn is also a classroom teacher at Mark Twain Elementary and has been teaching for over 20 years. Dawn loves being a teacher. She has read hundreds of children’s books to her students through the years, and has written many fictional stories including “Trick or Treat on Crackle Street” alongside her students. “Trick or Treat on Crackle Street” is a story of courage, kindness and finding friendship in the most unlikely of places and is available for purchase on Amazon.com
