Ozarks Public Television celebrates Dr. Seuss

Ozarks Public Television is excited to announce plans to celebrate Dr. Seuss in southwest Missouri. The feature event is the Seuss Science Day on Feb. 16. It will take place at the Discovery Center of Springfield with a visit from the Cat in the Hat himself.

On this special day, guests can take advantage of reduced admission to the Discovery Center of $7 per person. Children ages 2 and under get in free. OPT Kids Club members also receive free admission. To learn more about membership or to sign up, visit www.optv.org .

Kids will have a chance to hear Dr. Seuss stories, including “Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?,” “Fox in Socks,” “Green Eggs and Ham” and “The Sneetches.”Guests can also take part in special science demonstrations featured that day.

The Cat in the Hat will greet guests and pose for photos, with digital portraits provided by Focus Photography. Additional event sponsors include Diventures, IPA Educational Supply and Springfield Catholic Schools.

 Activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Discovery Center will be open during normal hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
