All Day Egg Hunt at the Discovery Center

The Discovery Center is hosting an all-day, indoor Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 20 from 9 am – 6 pm where families can explore the 6 combined floors of 300 hands-on exhibits while hunting for brightly colored Easter eggs—and a few golden eggs with special prizes. While there are other Easter egg hunts in the Ozarks, there will be none quite like the Discovery Center’s, which is indoors; will be restocked all day long; is organized by age level; and has a focus on wholesome, quality STEM education.

“As a parent, you never want to bet your kid’s Easter on what the forecast says. 60 and sunny can turn to 30 and snowing or 3 inches of rain without notice,” said Executive Director Rob Blevins. “We want to make sure families have access to a safe, dry egg hunt. The added bonus with this event is that it’s all day long. There’s no mad dash to snatch up eggs. We want families to come and explore the Discovery Center and find some hidden treasures among our exhibits—and hopefully some eggs as well.”

Egg hunting is FREE with admission.

  • General Admission Prices:
  • Children (Age 3-15): $8.00
  • Adults (Age 16-59): $12.00
  • Senior Citizens (Age 60+): $10.00
  • Military Personnel (With ID): $7.00
  • Children 2 and under are always free

Eggs will be color coded to allow kids of all ages to enjoy the hunt with categories from I-could-step-on-this for toddlers to we-will-find-this-next-year-maybe expert. Hunters will be able to trade in their found eggs for candy and prizes in the same way that family attractions exchange tickets for prizes. The Discovery Center will also have egg themed science demonstrations in addition to the over 300 hands on exhibits for egg-hunters to experience. All activities, including egg hunting for up to 10 eggs, are free with admission. Visitors can purchase more egg hunting permits and can collect additional eggs for $5 per child. more here
