Americans Are Buying Clothes Again!

Apparently spending on clothes had been way down, but it's back up again and good for the economy! So instead of feeling guilty that I borderline have a shopping addiction I can feel proud that I'm boosting the economy!

New data from Mastercard shows that shoppers spent more money on clothing/apparel this holiday season than they have the last eight years. They're actually spending more on themselves, not just buying gifts, and they're making more winter purchases preparing for cold weather. They also found that retailers are maintaining better inventory levels, requiring less discounting, which I take to mean they're not over stocking so items are selling out instead of having a surplus  they then must out on sale to move.
