Thursday, May 13th is World Cocktail Day, so I decided to look up the most popular cocktails for a little inspiration. Now, I usually reach for wine, and my husband likes a basic rum and coke, so I wasn't expecting anything on this list to be too complicated. I was wrong. It seems the fancier the cocktail, the more popular! In fact, as a frequent drinker and former bartender, I was surprised at a couple of beverages on the list I have only vaguely heard of before. That would be the Negroni, and the Aperol Spritz, both of which land in the top ten. Others on the list are a little more common to me, but still not usually ones I'm mixing at home. More of a treat yourself when you go out type of beverage. I will say, when I'm not drinking wine, I'll typically go for Number 8, the dirty martini! What do you think?
